The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping to see a bit more quality from their side over the coming weeks…
After a torrid start to the season, there are signs that the Gunners are beginning to get out of their slump, with another win coming against Doncaster on Wednesday evening.
That follows wins against Bournemouth and FC Köln and a draw against Chelsea, meaning that the Gunners are embarking on a decent unbeaten run at present.
As is often the case in England, though, there is little time for reflection, and thoughts at the Emirates have likely already turned to their upcoming clash with West Brom on Monday.
It’s a game that has a lot riding on it for Arsenal, and following the Gunners’ Carabao Cup win, Arsene Wenger provided some good news ahead of their next game.
According to Ben Dinnery on Twitter, Wenger revealed that Alexis Sanchez is in a good place fitness-wise at present, meaning a start on Monday could be forthcoming: ‘Wenger thought Sanchez was a bit short physically on Sunday [against Chelsea]. [He] Will be better placed to start on Monday’.

Dinnery is paraphrasing, but the message remains the same: Sanchez is in contention to start for the Gunners in the Premier League, at full fitness, for the first time in recent memory. That is massive for the Gunners.
He was their most important player last season, and if Arsenal are to turn their form around this season, Sanchez will be the focal point of the team.
It’s been a long time coming, and Arsenal have desperately missed Sanchez.
Whilst the off the field issues surrounding the Chilean continue to plague the Arsenal chatter in the Transfer Tavern, there is no doubting that he will continue to give 100% on the pitch.
West Brom will be well aware of his threat, but they may be powerless to stop him.
