Good news for Chelsea as key target reportedly wants to be at Stamford Bridge next season

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are getting very frustrated indeed…

Despite winning the Premier League last season, Chelsea are beginning to fall behind this summer – with the club yet to confirm any new signings so far.

With Man City signing the likes of Ederson and Bernardo Silva and Liverpool signing Mo Salah, Chelsea are certainly playing catch-up, but it would appear as if the Blues are finally beginning to pick up the pace.

According to Italian publication Corriere Dello Sport, Alex Sandro wants to move to Chelsea this summer, and the Blues have reportedly made a €70 million (£61.4 million) offer to make that happen.

The offer would represent a record fee for the Blues, whose current record stands at £50 million for Fernando Torres several years ago.

The deal is, of course, far from finished – but the fact that Sandro is said to be keen on moving to Stamford Bridge is very significant. Arguably one of the best left-backs in world football, it would certainly be a coup for Chelsea to land him.

That being said, the Chelsea fans in the pub aren’t too sure on this one. They think that Marcos Alonso had a stellar first year in England, and so they aren’t sure why the Blues are investing so heavily in Sandro. That said, his talent is undeniable, so they can’t complain too much.

Our landlord thinks that Sandro may end up being a very good one if it reaches its climax.
