The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern were met with some rather worrying news when they woke up this morning…
Reports emerged this week suggesting that the relationship between Antonio Conte and Chelsea was in a bad way, with even the Italian’s future coming under question.
Unsurprisingly, this generated some real fear in the pub. Conte enjoyed an incredible first season in England, delivering a Premier League trophy at the first time of asking, and so many fans want the Italian to extend his stay – not end it prematurely!
They will no doubt be happier this evening, then, with reports from Simon Johnson of the Evening Standard suggesting that reports of an issue between Conte and Chelsea are a complete fabrication. He notes that the Blues have dismissed the reports, bringing the mood of the fans in the pub back down to relative normality.

Despite being in England for a year, Conte has really made an incredible impact on the Premier League. Not only has his decision to utilise three central defenders facilitated a trend in England, but his fine management has also reshaped the landscape of the Premier League.
In truth, the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping that Conte is still at Stamford Bridge next season, as many are planning a few European trips – with Conte expected to impress in the Champions League next season.
