Good news for Conte as attacker is on track for Chelsea return

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have been patiently awaiting an update on the status of Eden Hazard…

The Belgian suffered an injury earlier this summer and has missed out on Chelsea’s pre-season campaign as he continues his recovery.

Obviously, as with any long-term injury issue, it is very hard to put a timeframe on recovery, but it appears as though the Belgian is making very good progress.

As per Kristof Terreur on Twitter, Eden Hazard has returned to light training just 7 weeks after breaking his ankle, with the Belgian football expert detailing that the winger is well on track in his progress.

Certainly, this can’t be characterised as a huge fitness boost for the Blues, as Hazard is still some way off returning to the club, but as of yet, he remains firmly on track to return within the first few weeks of the Premier League season – barring any exceptional circumstances.

Of course, Hazard is crucial for the Blues, and last season he returned to sparkling form en route to Chelsea’s sealing of the Premier League trophy. If Antonio Conte is going to repeat that feat next season, he will need Hazard back as soon as possible.
