The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are still celebrating their side’s signing of Mo Salah…
However, it seems as though the Egyptian may not be the only winger that Jurgen Klopp wants to bring to the club this summer, with the German reportedly a big fan of a certain Arsenal ace. According to the Mirror, Liverpool have launched an enquiry for Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, with the Reds encouraged by the fact that the Gunners’ contract talks with the Englishman have halted.
Indeed, with Chamberlain’s current deal set to expire at the end of next season, he is reaching a vitally important moment in his career. Likely seeking assurances over first-team football, Oxlade-Chamberlain may not be willing to sign the deal if he isn’t promised regular game time, and Liverpool could look to take advantage of this.
Liverpool may well be able to offer him that, with Jurgen Klopp looking to improve the quality in his team this summer. The Reds return to the Champions League next season, and so they will need a number of new players as they look to beef out their squad. Arsenal, meanwhile, finished outside of the competition, and so squad depth will be markedly less important for them.
The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern would love to see the Englishman join the club, as they have been really impressed with him over the last few years. Though not a regular at Arsenal, they think that he would be a star at Anfield.
