The Manchester City supporting punters here in the Transfer Tavern have been in good spirits of late about their managerial situation, after it was confirmed that Pep Guardiola will take over the reigns in the summer.
Talk in the Tavern has naturally turned to which players the successful Spanish manager will try and take to Manchester with him, with world class players mentioned left, right and centre.
One City fan is sat drinking an orange and water in the Tavern as he is on taxi duties for the Mrs later and spots an article via ESPN, which says that Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets has stated that Guardiola is the only manager that could convince him to leave the Catalan giants.
The 27-year-old midfielder was given his chance in the first-team at Barca by Guardiola during the 2007/08 season, and Busquets said he would relish the chance to work with the manager once again.
Our landlord thinks the midfield is the problem area for City and claims the Barcelona man would be a very good addition to the squad!
City fans…. Would you welcome Busquets to the club? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
