The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping for a win against Crystal Palace this weekend…
That feat could be about to get much easier, too, with Ben Dinnery revealing on Twitter that defender Mamadou Sakho is likely to miss the game through injury. See that Tweet in full below…

This is important for Man Utd, as Sakho has been a wall in the heart of the Eagles’ defence in recent weeks.
Though the game has very little riding on it for Man Utd, it could prove to be crucial given what is coming for the Red Devils. They have looked poor in the Premier League in recent weeks, and next week have to take on Ajax in what is undoubtedly their most important game of the season so far.
A win will ensure Champions League football returns to Old Trafford next season, whilst a loss will earmark Mourinho’s first season as an unmitigated failure.
That being said, a victory against Crystal Palace could give the Red Devils the confidence booster they need to take on Ajax with style. The problem with Man Utd’s lack of competitive action in recent weeks is that their momentum is at an all-time low, and the absence of Sakho in the Crystal Palace defence will surely make it easier for Mourinho’s side.
Our landlord thinks that a win is vital for Man Utd’s confidence ahead of the Europa League final…
