There are celebrations coming from the Manchester United supporting corner of the Football Transfer Tavern today after one of them spotted some fantastic news whilst scrolling through Twitter.
Amongst the memes of Theresa May galloping through fields of wheat one fan in the bar spotted a line from former Sky Sports man Richard Keys who is claiming that the Red Devils deal for Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata is done.
Keys has claimed that United have agreed a €70m (around £61m) for the Spanish striker, who returned to Santiago Bernabeu from Juventus for a cut-rate of £30m last summer after the Champions League winners activated a buy-back clause.
As well as the €70m fee for the 24-year-old, Keys has also stated that the Spanish international will sign on a 4-year-deal at Old Trafford.
Despite being brought back to the club a year ago Morata has fallen down the pecking order under the guise of manager Zinedine Zidane, and with that in mind our landlord is unsure as to whether or not he will be a fit under Mourinho.
Given that last season’s top scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic has now been released by United there are big boots to fill at the Theatre of Dreams and the feeling in the Tavern is that Morata may not be the man.
United fans, are you looking forward to seeing Morata in a red shirt? Let us know below…
