Good news for Man Utd in pursuit of 27-year-old, player could be open to move in the future

It has been a stellar summer for the Red Devils, but the fans in the Transfer Tavern want to see a few more players move to Old Trafford…

Jose Mourinho’s side struggled against Real Madrid on Tuesday, proving that the Red Devils are still lacking the quality to compete with Europe’s best, and so the fans in the pub are desperate for a few more big names to join.

One player that has been linked with a move lately is Danny Rose of Tottenham, with the Englishman impressing for the Lilywhites prior to suffering an injury last season.

Man Utd have today received a bit of a boost in their pursuit of the defender, with the Evening Standard reporting that Rose is flattered at reports of interest from the Red Devils, and it is said that he has quietly been considering his future as of late. Significantly, a move this summer still looks very unlikely, but Rose is reportedly keen to win trophies, and so a move in the future is possible.

Rose has been out of action for the best part of six months, having missed the end of last season through injury. He is set to return at some point in the next month or so, though, and will be available for the business end of the season.

Landlord’s Verdict

Man Utd clearly need more signings, and the defence is a particular area of weakness. Luke Shaw was expected to become a real star in the position, but a mix of injury and a lack of form have really hurt his development, and so the fans in the pub are beginning to sour on the Englishman.

Rose, though, appears to be only getting better – with his excellent form in a white shirt not going unnoticed in the Transfer Tavern.

A move to a Premier League rival is unlikely to be tolerated by the Spurs brass, but if Man Utd offer enough money – as Man City did with Kyle Walker – Daniel Levy could be unable to say no.

A move looks unlikely now, but who knows what the future holds.
