Good news for Man Utd in pursuit of attacker, club edging closer to securing deal

Preparations for the 2017/178 season are going well at Man Utd this summer, and the fans in the Transfer Tavern are getting very excited indeed…

Last season was a year of progression at Man Utd, with the arrival of Jose Mourinho expected to usher in an era of change after a couple of years in the wilderness.

A couple of major signings last summer, notably that of Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, helped the club progress, and last year they helped the club to finally return to the promised land of the Champions League.

Next season, though, the Man Utd fans in the pub are expecting even more, and they are desperate for their side to bring the Premier League trophy back to Old Trafford, and so the Red Devils need a few new players this summer to make that happen.

It has been a good start to the summer in that regard, with both Victor Lindelof and Romelu Lukaku moving to Old Trafford, and according to Sky Sports – another player could be joining them sooner, rather than later.

Sky Sports are reporting that Ivan Perisic wants to move to Man Utd this summer, whilst the Red Devils are finally beginning to edge closer to securing a deal with Inter Milan for the attacking midfielder.

Perisic differs from Man Utd’s other signings this summer in that he is far closer to 30 than he is 20, meaning that he would bring years worth of experience with him. This is important as both Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Wayne Rooney have left the club this season, leaving a real void of leadership and experience within the Man Utd first team.

Given his quality, he will also bring a lot on the field too, and Jose Mourinho appears desperate to land him.
