The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are beginning to grow tired of their side’s pursuit of Ivan Perisic…
The move has long been touted, with reports earlier this month even suggesting that a deal between the two clubs for the midfielder was close, but as of yet it has not come to fruition.
By no means is the deal dead, though, with Inter Milan manager Luciano Spalletti giving Man Utd reason for optimism in their pursuit of the midfielder.
According to the BBC, he has admitted that whilst Perisic is important for the Italian side, he could be sold this summer provided that “someone comes in with a very difficult offer to reject”.
Clearly this would suggest that even if Man Utd have made a move, it has not tempted the Italian side to cash in – but there is good news for Mourinho, with a deal still seemingly possible.
Jose Mourinho clearly wants to improve his side, but it is up to the Red Devils to cough up the cash to make it happen. Improvement in the Man Utd attack is certainly needed, with the Premier League side lacking an out-and-out winger at present.
If Perisic was unavailable, Spalletti would have said as much, but clearly the club are ready to sell him this summer. That said, a move is clearly not close, with Man Utd yet to offer enough money for the midfielder.
He would certainly be a good signing for the Red Devils. He is an excellent attacker and is particularly efficient at delivering balls into the box – and this is something that new striker Romelu Lukaku would feed off of.
Now, though, Man Utd must decide if he is worth paying the money that Inter Milan are demanding. On paper, though, he would be a great option.
