Southampton fans in the Transfer Tavern will be looking for the side to improve drastically this summer as they will want to forget about the poor year they have had.
The Saints managed to escape the death with just one Premier League game to go and Mark Hughes will want to make sure he can add a number of additions to his side, but will also be desperate to keep his main stars as well.
According to The Southern Daily Echo, Maya Yoshida is set to stay at St. Mary’s Stadium amid interest from the Middle East. The Japan international has been attracting interest from Saudi Arabia champions Al Hilal, but the defender is happy in England.
The 29-year-old is preparing for the World Cup with his national and is determined to remain on the south coast, having signed a three-year contract last summer.
The Saints fans in the Tavern will be delighted that Yoshida has committed himself to the club once again and will be hoping he can continue to play a crucial role.
The defender featured for the St Mary’s Stadium outfit 28 times during their difficult year and also suffered a spell on the sidelines through injury.
