The Newcastle fans in the Transfer Tavern have been getting more and more frustrated as Mike Ashley continues to be Mike Ashley in the transfer window. According to journalist Luke Edwards on Twitter, the Magpies don’t have any signings in place and have had a bid rejected for French striker Alassane Plea.
Two days before the start of pre season training and it doesn’t look like #nufc will have any more new signings in place. Bid for Plea rejected by Nice and another club have bid more at this stage

For most Geordies, this news isn’t at all shocking. The fans have been getting more and more irate with the way the club conducts themselves in the transfer market. In Newcastle, supporters aren’t exactly pleased or shocked with this news and it will be a big surprise to the fans if the club did pull off a big signing, like that of OGC Nice’s Alassane Plea or Kenedy from Chelsea.
The St James Park faithful have become synonymous with looking for a bargain and will never pay over the odds on a player. So far the club has signed Ki Sung-Yeung on a free transfer from Swansea and Martin Dubravka for a small fee of around £3 million after the shot-stopper spent the second-half of last season at the club. However, the Magpies have been linked with the likes of Plea, Kenedy and Andros Townsend and the fans would all love to see some of these brave transfers go through.

By the sounds of reports were still talks with Townsend and could very well happen, in talks with that striker with one bid rejected may go back in again I’m feeling abit more optimistic about it.

The Newcastle fans in the Tavern would love to see some signings come through the door but aren’t exactly optimistic of that.
