‘Good riddance’, ‘Send him abroad’ – West Ham fans on Twitter react to transfer update

The resident Hammers in the Transfer Tavern are hoping David Moyes can bring some quality talent to the London Stadium this month.

For clubs threatened by relegation, the January transfer window is arguably a more crucial period than for any other club in the Premier League. West Ham currently sit just two points clear of the relegation zone, and the signing of even just one proven talent could be the difference between relegation and survival this season.

However, West Ham were busy in the transfer window last summer as they brought Marko Arnautovic and Javier Hernandez to the club, and there is a suggestion that The Hammers don’t have much cash to play with this month due to their summer spending.

The easy solution to the problem for Moyes is to sell players on the fringes of his first-team squad in order to accumulate the funds needed to land his targets this month.

And according to Sky Sports, West Ham are on the verge of doing just that, as Diafra Sakho is set to undergo a medical at Crystal Palace ahead of a proposed transfer for a fee in the region of £10-12 million.

The news has provoked a mixed reaction from supporters on Twitter.

Plenty of Hammers have argued that Sakho is not good enough for the club in his current form, but some of the supporters are concerned by the prospect of selling to a relegation rival in the midseason window.

Here’s what the West Ham fans had to say about the potential transfer of Sakho to Palace this month…
