Goodbye Morata: Chelsea should replace him with £58.5m-rated potential superstar

Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are glad they have an FA Cup final to look forward to after a disappointing defence of their title in the Premier League.

The Blues missed out on a top-four finish meaning there will be no Champions League football at Stamford Bridge next season. Antonio Conte paid the price for a poor summer transfer window last summer where he failed to strengthen the right areas. After allowing Diego Costa to leave, his replacement Alvaro Morata has failed to impress.

Following just one year at the club, Chelsea are reportedly open to offers for the Spaniard with a return to Juventus rumoured. To replace him, Conte should make a move for Manchester United forward – Anthony Martial. The French forward was dealt a huge blow recently when Didier Deschamps announced he would miss the 2018 World Cup. The 22-year-old has struggled since the arrival of Alexis Sanchez at Old Trafford.

Valued at £58m by Transfermarkt, Chelsea should take advantage of his situation at Manchester and bring him to Stamford Bridge. The ex-Monaco man has scored 11 goals and notched nine assists in all competitions, usually from a left-wing role. If moved to the centre, Martial could be a 20-goal per season striker in the Premier League.

With bags of pace and fantastic finishing ability, United’s loss should be Chelsea’s gain.
