Arsenal fans surely must be craving a place in the Champions League after settling for Europa League football in recent times, as they look to relive their glory days.
The Gunners currently find themselves in a promising position in the race for a top four spot with three points tomorrow pushing them up into third position in the Premier League table.
What’s the news?
Arsenal supporters received a huge boost ahead of tomorrow’s clash with Newcastle, as according to football.london, Unai Emery expects Granit Xhaka to be ready to face Rafa Benitez’s side.
Xhaka was substituted during Switzerland’s game with Denmark on Wednesday night after complaining of a thigh injury.
“Xhaka also rested today, we’re going to wait [until] tomorrow and Sunday but the first previews from the doctor is that he can progress to be ready for Monday,”
Granit Xhaka, who is valued at £45 million (by Transfermarkt), has been one of the unsung heroes for Arsenal in the current campaign as he’s managed to produce four goals and three assists in all competitions, as well as constantly linking defence to attack and keeping the game flowing in the middle of midfield.
Many Arsenal fans will only associate him with his defensive mistakes but he could develop into a very special player for the Gunners if he’s used higher up the field, so Emery should make the adjustment.
Newcastle love to control things in the middle of the park, so he could play a monumental part tomorrow.
Arsenal fans, how big of a boost is Xhaka’s likely return?
