Portsmouth manager Avram Grant is said to be eyeing up players at his former club Chelsea in an attempt to boost Pompey’s chances of surviving relegation.
With finances an issue at Fratton Park, Grant is said to be looking at alternative options, highlighting a possible loan move involving young striker Daniel Sturridge. Sturridge, 20, is yet to make a Premier League start for Carlo Ancelotti’s side and the Italian could be tempted to loan the ex-Man City forward out to gain experience.
Grant is also said to be interested in Chelsea’s utility player Juliano Belletti, who is out of contract in June. The Brazilian is only considered back-up at Stamford Bridge and being 33 years old, it is unlikely that will change. Belletti may be tempted by the calls of former manager Grant.
