Jose Mourinho is a manager that has always favoured experience, though at Man Utd he’s begun to change that strategy.
In the past, he’s turned to older players, like John Terry for example, to help guide his shop to port, but at Man Utd, he’s relied more heavily on younger players.
The likes of Romelu Lukaku, Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford have played prominent roles under the Portuguese, indicating a clear change in tactic from him.
However, he clearly still rates older players, and it seems that the Man Utd fans online do too.
Man City man Yaya Toure, who is set to leave the club this summer, recently revealed to the Manchester Evening News that he would like to play with Paul Pogba, and that has got fans thinking about whether Man Utd should make a move for him.
Toure has, of course, been a Premier League mainstay over the last few years, and he’s dominated midfielders for the Citizens for years.
Granted, he’s older now, but his desire to work with Pogba appears to be coming from more of a tutorial perspective, and that does make sense given what he’s achieved.
That’s, at least, what the Man Utd fans online are thinking. Supporters have taken to Twitter to discuss Toure’s comments, and fans are behind the idea of him joining the club – provided that he isn’t a regular in the team and helps to support the younger players like Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba.
Take a look at what they’ve had to say below…
I wouldn’t mind it if he was more like a coach, think Pogba would benefit massively from him and carrick being around. Shouldn’t be starting for us tho

We can’t find experienced players that are aged 23. He is one of the best goal scoring CM’s ever and will be able to guide Pogba like nobody else. It’s a great signing IMO.

Agreed. Bring him in as some sort of coach, would be perfect for Pogba.

I think he could make a huge difference it would be a great move he's world class

As a player coach maybe acceptable, would be a good guide for the likes of pogba and mctominay

I thibk he is good for a year like Zlatan as an additional target not a primary one. I THINK WE NEED RB I would go with Sociedad one, LB Alex Sandro, Two CMs, CB and a RW . We need to get rid if Smalling, young, blind, Darmian, Fellaini, jones, Valencia and Shaw to be subs.

Take him for a laugh. Play him in the cup games. His experience could help and he is a character, but he would have to be on pennies for it to even be a good move.

Great guy to mentor pogba on how to be a big dominant player

Wouldn’t mind you know? He can probably contribute for a season at least. And could teach Pogba a thing or two. #MUFC

We can get him since he is free and his experience can help youngsters.

Surely this would be a signing that would be as back up or coaching, this would be excellent for pogba and mctomminay (can't spell haha)
