Great injury news for Arsenal ahead of this evening’s clash with West Brom

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are expecting nothing but a win against West Brom this evening…

The Gunners, have a tough start to the season, look to be turning it around lately under Arsene Wenger, with a number of fine performances coming in recent weeks

The Premier League, though, is where they need to perform, and they desperately need to get back in contention at the top of the table.

Standing in their way as they look to complete that objective is West Brom, who are set to take on the Gunners this evening.

It won’t be easy for Arsenal to get the win, but they have received some great injury news as preparations begin to ramp up for the game.

As per Ben Dinney on Twitter, the duo of Mesut Ozil and Theo Walcott have both trained ahead of the game, meaning that – at the very least – they could be in contention to be involved in some form for the Gunners.

Ozil’s return would come as a massive boost for the club, with fans yet to see Alexis Sanchez, Alexandre Lacazette and Ozil take to the field collectively this season.

He hasn’t been in great form, but on his day there is nobody better, and so the prospect of his return is exciting.

Walcott, meanwhile, though unlikely to start, would offer a great option from the bench for the Gunners.

It still remains to be seen, though, whether Wenger deems either player fit enough to feature. This is a boost for the future either way, though.

Landlord’s Verdict

The Gunners can’t afford to rush either player back, but Wenger may have little choice but to involve them in some way.

They’re both key to proceedings at the Emirates, and if they need a goal towards the end of the game, the impact that each player could have is massive.

It’s a fine line for Wenger to tread, but his years of experience will stand him in good stead.
