The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to the news that Pepijn Lijnders has returned to Anfield to take up a role in Jurgen Klopp’s first-team set-up, just months after he left to manage NEC in his homeland back in January. Liverpool fans can read more about the return of Lijnders on the club’s official website.

Whilst the fans will be delighted to see the Dutchman back at Anfield for next season, they’ve all been calling for the same thing on Twitter. The Reds want to see Zeljko Buvac back on Merseyside. Since Buvac’s untimely split from Klopp the club haven’t been able to maintain their positive form and results have been inconsistent, with the Reds season ending on a sour note with the 3-1 loss to Real Madrid in Kiev in the Champions League final.
Whilst the domestic season is now over and the fans will be turning to watch the World Cup in Russia, Lijnders and Klopp will be looking to the transfer market. The club has already moved to bring in Fabinho from Monaco and will be joined by RB Leipzig’s Naby Keita who agreed to join the club last summer. The fans have been loving the recent rumours linking them with Lyon’s Nabil Fekir, and if Lijnders can help get the deal over the line then it will have been a superb deal.
