The resident Toffees in the Transfer Tavern were delighted to see their side come away from Anfield with a point to show for their efforts on Sunday afternoon…
Despite spending the majority of the match camped inside their own half, unable to get a foothold in the game, Everton managed to score an unlikely equaliser with just 13 minutes left of regulation time remaining. Liverpool initially took the lead as the first-half drew to a close courtesy of a glorious finish from The Reds’ electric Egyptian Mo Salah. The second-half followed a similar pattern to the first, as Liverpool dominated possession throughout, but they were unable to score a decisive second goal.
Everton’s moment of delight arrived in the 77th minute as Wayne Rooney converted from the penalty-spot after Dominic Calvert-Lewin was controversially brought down by Dejan Lovren inside the box.
And according to Paul Joyce, the Northern Football Correspondent for The Times, Everton’s penalty-winner Calvert-Lewin and academy prospect Jonjoe Kenny are both close to extending their contracts with the club.

The news has sparked a response from both sets of supporters on Merseyside, as The Reds faithful still seem bitter about the penalty decision that went against them on Sunday.
On the other hand, a particular Toffee was quick to remind the Liverpool supporters about their former hero’s theatrical antics on the football pitch.
Here’s what supporters from both sides of Merseyside had to say in response to the contract news…
Amazing seeing LFC fans moaning about diving when all pundits say it was a pen. One word…… Suarez
