Guardiola and Mourinho could be set for another massive Manchester transfer battle – Report

Our resident United and City supporters in the Transfer Tavern are excited at the possibility of signing Leicester City’s Harry Maguire.

Indeed, according to the Mirror, Manchester United and Manchester City are ready to go to war in order to sign Harry Maguire from former Premier League champions, Leicester City. As you can imagine, considering the current landscape of English football, the two sets of supporters want nothing more than to win the potential transfer battle.

Maguire has made a significant impression at the Foxes since completing a summer move from Hull City, and he’s even established himself as a member of Gareth Southgate’s England squad. It is believed that Leicester value the defender at £50M, and despite the recent signing of Aymeric Laporte, City are still in pursuit of more defensive reinforcements.

The report says that both Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola have been impressed with the Englishman’s progression this season and could perhaps consider him a long-term target following his rapid development of late.

Landlord’s verdict

Indeed, the 24-year-old is an exceptional talent, who is incredibly comfortable with the ball at his feet. He’s also a commanding presence at the heart of the defence, he would be a terrific signing for either Manchester club as they look to strengthen their defences ahead of next season.
