The Man City fans in the Transfer Tavern are feeling pretty good at the moment. Having won yet again in the Premier League over the weekend, most fans didn’t think that life could get much better.
However, fortunately for them, even more good news has come today – and it’s news that fans were not expecting.
Guardiola has been handed a big fitness boost today owing to the return of Benjamin Mendy. The Citizens confirmed over on their official Twitter page that the Frenchman has now returned to training alongside Fabian Delph and Raheem Sterling.

Mendy, of course, hasn’t been seen since September – having suffered a long-term injury just a few games into his Man City career.
Most fans weren’t expecting him to return until next season, given the nature of his injury, but now it appears as though there is a realistic chance of seeing him at some point this term. Make no mistake, a first-team return is still some way off, and it will be a long road until he is fully fit, but the Frenchman is clearly working to that end.
Unsurprisingly, this has generated some real excitement over on Twitter. Man City fans simply cannot believe what they’re reading at the moment, given that most were not expecting an imminent return to training.
It’s fair to say that Man City fans are happier than ever.
