Guardiola identifies first Man City star for summer exit

Wilfried BonyManchester City fans here in the Tavern are still buzzing at the prospect of being managed by Pep Guardiola next season.

With that, most of the talk is of the big-name superstars that could be coming to grace the Etihad Stadium next season, but on the flip side of that, they are aware that several players will also be on their way out.

One of those is likely to be Wilfried Bony, according to the die-hard Blues fans in here- who spotted the story in The Daily Star

It is not really a move that will have their fans drowning their sorrows as things haven’t really worked out as planned for Bony since his big money move from Swansea in January of last year.

Since his £28 million move, he has scored only six times in 27 Premier League appearances for City and he is likely to be one of the players sacrificed for Guardiola to build his own squad next season.

He now faces the indignity of being sold to the highest bidder at the end of the season with Guardiola seemingly not impressed by Bony’s ability.

Wholesale squad changes are never guaranteed to work out as hoped but this is a move that City fans will agree with if it means that the superstars they want can take his place.

It is unfortunate for Bony that it has not worked out and City fans will, no doubt, wish him well but for now the Blues’ fans are looking forward to much brighter times ahead.
