Guardiola looking to muscle in on £55.25m-rated Liverpool target

The Manchester City fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are getting far too excited over the start of the new season, with Pep Guardiola having already landed deals for Ederson and Bernardo Silva, with more promising to follow.

There is particular excitement from those in sky blue today as reports from Sky Sports are suggesting the former Bayern Munich boss could be targeting a Bundesliga sensation.

The reports claim that the City manager is monitoring the situation surrounding Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who has also been linked with a move to reunite with former boss Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.

The £55.25m-rated forward enjoyed an outstanding season under Thomas Tuchel last term, scoring 40 goals in all competitions.

Our landlord reckons that, while Liverpool do stand a decent chance of landing a deal due to Klopp’s relationship with the 28-year-old, the wages City are capable of offering would be hard to meet and equally as hard to turn down for a move to Anfield.

Liverpool fans, we want to hear from you! Do you think Klopp can convince Aubameyang to make the move? City fans, would you like to see the striker alongside Aguero and Gabriel Jesus next season? Let us know below…
