Whilst it’s been a quiet day on the transfer front for both Manchester sides, the city was shook to it’s core with the confirmation that Pep Guardiola would become Manchester City manager at the end of the season.
The Red Devils will have been gutted to miss out on the race for Guardiola’s signature and it’s further indication of a power shift in Manchester, with the Citizens continuing their bid of becoming the biggest club in England and pushing United off their throne.
26-year-old Herrera is said to be disillusioned at Old Trafford, where he’s found first-team opportunities limited, and it would not come as a surprise to see him keen on uniting with his Spanish compatriot across the city.
However, our landlord can’t see this happening anytime soon and says the only way this could happen is if Herrera spent a year abroad before returning to the Premier League.
