Guardiola must sign Allan and Firpo in January

Manchester City will be hopeful that they can work their way back into the title race as things haven’t gone to plan over the festive period.

The Citizens suffered defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace and Leicester City towards the end of December, which has provided Liverpool with a major advantage in the Premier League title race.

Indeed, with the January transfer window now here, perhaps Pep Guardiola will have his sights set on securing a couple of world-class players in areas that require improvements after witnessing their recent downfall. Although, with the Reds currently steaming ahead in the title race, it will take something special in January to claw things back.

With that in mind, Pep must land these TWO transfers ideal for Man City…

ALLAN

Indeed, with the Citizens struggling to keep things tight in the middle of midfield and in defensive areas in recent times, it’s vital that they bring in a world-class player like Allan, as he has established himself as one of the best midfielders in world football by making use of his ability to intercept and tackle the opposition.

Fernandinho has been a real weak point for the Citizens in recent times and he’s coming towards the back end of his footballing career, so bringing in Allan would freshen things up and provide more quality.

JUNIOR FIRPO

The left-back position has been a real problem for Manchester City in the current campaign as Benjamin Mendy continues to spend time out on the sidelines, which has forced Guardiola to turn to Oleksandr Zinchenko.

It’s safe to say that the Ukrainian has done a solid job filling in for the Frenchman, but he can be vulnerable at times in defensive areas as he loves to bomb forward.

Real Betis’ Junior Firpo has attracted the attention of Manchester City and Real Madrid in recent months, so it’s clear to see that he is a hot topic at this moment in time. He is only 22 years of age, has scored three goals and provided two assists this season and has European experience, so he could easily slot right in.
