Guardiola reportedly ‘desperate’ to land key target, but there’s bad news for Man City

The Man City fans in the Transfer Tavern are patiently waiting for their side to land another summer deal…

The summer started very well, with the duo of Bernardo Silva and Ederson both signed in quick succession, but that has left the fans in the pub wanting more.

Indeed, there is a real expectation that things are going to change at the Etihad this summer, but it doesn’t look like it is going to be all that easy for the Citizens.

According to the Daily Star, Pep Guardiola is ‘desperate’ to land a deal for Kyle Walker, but Tottenham are said to be playing hardball over a move. An offer of around £45 million is reportedly being demanded now, leaving our landlord questioning whether the Englishman is worth that sort of investment.

That being said, it is very easy to see where Walker would fit in at the Etihad. A defensive rebuild is needed this summer, with several defenders departing the club, not to mention the fact that the first team struggled at the back last season. Walker, then, would likely come in and immediately make an impact, and his offensive play style would align perfectly with Pep Guardiola’s ideology.

The Man City fans in the Transfer Tavern would love to see Walker join, no matter the cost.
