Man City fans in the Football Transfer Tavern will do well to keep out of the way of Chelsea fans in the bar today as they may be in for a fair amount of ridicule from their fellow punters. This advice comes in the light of news that one of Guardiola’s major summer targets is set to turn down a move to Manchester, and join Conte at Chelsea instead.
One of the real heroes of Italy’s Euro 2016 campaign has been the subject of interest from top clubs in the Premier League this summer but now, according to reports in The Sun, Leonardo Bonucci looks set to snub an offer to join Pep Guardiola at the Etihad, in favour of a move to reunite with former club and international boss, Antonio Conte.
The Italian international has flourished for both club and country under the guise of Chelsea’s new boss, Conte, and it appears that he doesn’t want that to stop after a good run at the Euros in France this summer.
Should the two Italian heroes reunite, it will cost Chelsea, with the former Inter Milan youngster being valued at upwards of £50m.
Chelsea fans, should Conte spend whatever money he has to bring one of his favourite players with him to the Bridge? City fans, should you offer a contract simply too good to turn down to bring Bonucci to Manchester? Let us know in the comments below…
