Guardiola should think about dropping Gabriel Jesus today

It’s crazy to think that Manchester City are still having to compete with Liverpool despite their dominance in recent times in all competitions, but it may not be long until they leave the Reds behind if Pep Guardiola’s side continue to march on.

City fans will have their sights set firmly on their side securing the quadruple this season, with silverware still up for grabs in the Premier League, Champions League and the FA Cup after winning the Carabao Cup.

Interestingly, the Citizens’ quadruple dreams will be put on the line later on today as they’re set to take on Brighton & Hove Albion in the semi-final of the FA Cup. The Seagulls have beaten the likes of Derby County, Bournemouth, West Bromwich Albion and Millwall on their way to the semi-final, so they won’t be pushovers.

Of course, the team selection could prove crucial in what is a key game in City’s season, so Guardiola must make the brave decision to drop this man at Wembley today…

BENCH GABRIEL JESUS

Gabriel Jesus, who is valued at £63 million (by Transfermarkt), started in Manchester City’s last Premier League fixture against Cardiff City. He wasn’t at his best as he squandered a number of chances but his chest-down for Leroy Sane certainly created a lot of excitement at the Etihad.

However, Guardiola will surely turn to Sergio Aguero instead of the Brazilian as the Argentine is the form man with two goals and two assists to his name in two FA Cup appearances.
