If Arsenal are to keep up their hunt of the top four, Unai Emery will need to reinvest into his squad.

Due to the injuries of Rob Holding and Hector Bellerin, Arsenal are now desperately in need of more defenders next month. Moreover, without Shkodran Mustafi, Arsenal have had to rely on Laurent Koscielny, who has only just returned from a long-term injury and still needs time to bed back into the team.

Going forward, Emery doesn't have much depth to choose from on the wing while in midfield, if there are injuries to Granit Xhaka or Lucas Torreira, there aren't many players able to step into the side.

Moreover, Emery now has the impending problem of Mesut Ozil and as it stands, it's unknown whether the midfielder has a future in his squad despite signing a new deal with the club last season.

According to the Independent, Arsenal are exploring a potential swap deal involving Ozil and Real Madrid midfielder Isco.

The Breakdown

At the time it seemed as though Arsenal had done what they needed to when they signed Ozil to a £300,000-a-week deal last year but so far this season, it looks as though the club top earner doesn't have a place in Emery's starting XI.

While it would seem that it will be tough for Arsenal to bring in the Spanish international, with Isco having only paid 11 games for the club, six of those coming from the bench this season, it would seem that a move away is likely for the talented midfielder.
