Arsenal fans are looking towards our landlord who reports via Metro that it isn’t all bad news for the Gunners after all.
Over a pint, our landlord notes that Mesut Ozil – who has been heavily linked with an exit – has pledged his future to the club and contrary to reports, will not be leaving for Bayern Munich this winter.
Ozil is a prolific social media user and took to his Twitter account to express his gratitude to Arsenal and their fans, claiming: “Thanks for your support following my injury.
“I’ll come back on the pitch soon as I can to help #AFC. Now and in the future.”
Now as our regulars quip, just because Ozil wants to stay at Arsenal, this does not necessarily mean that the Gunners actually want to keep him following an elongated spell of below-par performances from the German international.
Arsene Wenger may well be losing patience with his star signing of last summer after Ozil’s confidence on the field seemingly hit a new low.
Arsenal fans. Is it good news that Ozil wants to stay or wouldn’t you mind the likes of Schalke’s Julian Draxler coming in to replace him this winter? Let us know your thoughts below.
