The Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to the news that their club will not be handing out songsheets in an attempt to improve the atmosphere inside Old Trafford. The lack of atmosphere at the stadium was brought up at a regular fan’s forum last month and the club has been looking into ways to fix the problem. The news was tweeted by Sky Sports, with a link to their website for further details.
Despite being in the FA Cup semi-finals and having a place in the Premier League’s top four nearly nailed on, the club’s fans are struggling to find things to cheer about whilst watching their side turn out at the Theatre of Dreams. Manchester United fans have been open about their opinions on current manager Jose Mourinho and they blame the Portuguese tactician for the club’s Champions League exit to Sevilla earlier in the month.
Manchester United will NOT hand out song sheets to supporters to improve the atmosphere at Old Trafford, Sky Sports News understands
— Sky Sports PL (@SkySportsPL) March 21, 2018
The club has struggled to generate the atmosphere that Old Trafford is famed for since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson back in 2013. The atmosphere is not the only the club has struggled for in that time, as The Red Devils have gone without a Premier League crown for the longest spell in their history. Jose Mourinho will be hoping that he can get the club winning more silverware as he vies to deliver the fans the FA Cup this season in the hope the fans might help get behind the team and turn Old Trafford into the cauldron it once was.
