Speculation continues to link West Ham United with striker after striker following Carlton Cole’s recent injury and Sky Sports is claiming that the trail has ended for one prospective signing but that interest remains in another.
Bologna striker Pablo Osvaldo had been strongly linked with the club recently but sporting director Gianluca Nani has moved to quash any speculation over the possible signing, telling Radio Tau:
“Daniel is not one of the players we are following. He is a great striker and we followed him before he went to Bologna but since last year, we have not followed him and even now we are not interested in him”
Man City’s forgotten man Benjani Mwaruwari is believed to be a player who does interest the Hammers though but they’ll face stiff competition for the player from Bolton and Wigan. City are thought to only be asking £1.5 million for the former Portsmouth man and Hammers manager Gianfranco Zola believes the Zimbabwean could score the goals the club needs as they continue without the injured Cole.
