Amid continued speculation over the futures of Robbie Keane and Roman Pavlyuchenko, Tottenham are looking to strengthen their attacking options, and have turned their attention to Feyenoord’s Luc Castaignos.
The 18-year-old striker has been in sensational form of late, both in the Eredivisie and for the Dutch under-19 side, which has alerted not only Spurs, but also Rafa Benitez’s Inter.
According to reports published by Goal.com, Rafa Benitez has already despatched a delegation to meet the player’s representatives and thrash out a deal, to be completed when Inter return from their participation in the FIFA Club World Cup.
However, talksport are suggesting that this may spur Harry Redknapp into getting ahead of Benitez by making a bid for the starlet in early January. Feyenoord will demand a transfer fee of £4m, after which Spurs may loan Castaignos back to the Dutch side for the rest of the season to continue his development, with Inter believed to have a similar deal in mind.
However, if Harry does lose Keane and Pavlyuchenko in January, Castaignos may have to do his developing from the bench at White Hart Lane.
Reports have also suggested that Spanish club, Valencia, are also vying for the starlet’s signature.
