Liverpool supporting punters here in the Transfer Tavern are getting more and more excited at the imminent news that Klopp will become their new manager, but this story from the Standard has put a slight downer on the high spirits of the Reds faithful.
Former Tottenham Hotspur and Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp is not sure whether the charismatic manager will excel at Anfield, and told Kicca (Via the Standard)
“Jurgen Klopp – I don’t know – he did well but they had a nightmare last year and almost finished bottom of the league because they lost a couple of good players,”
“He’s got a good chance because he’s going to a fantastic football club.
“But put him in at Sunderland now and see if he can do the job there; it would be a different story.”
Now, our resident Liverpool fans here in the Tavern feel that the ex-Borussia Dortmund manager is the perfect person to take the helm at Anfield, and argue he will help get the club back into the top four, and help the Reds battle for the Premier League title!
Meanwhile, our landlord here in the Tavern somewhat agrees with Harry Redknapp, and argues that if the club lose some it’s best players, such as Coutinho, Klopp may find it hard to flourish at the Merseyside outfit.
Liverpool fans….. What do you make of Redknapp’s words? Agree with him? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
