The stern Spurs gaffer may well be our nations favorite to take over the England role, but the dedicated boss is said to be in ‘no hurry’ to leave his precious position at Tottenham.
With Fabio Capello’s recent shock departure from the England bench, all eyes turned to ‘big Harry’ Redknapp to lead our country to European glory.
As the England team really is a sinking ship, it was no surprise when Redknapp turned around and announced that he wanted to stay at Spurs at least until the end of the season. Herald Sun relayed a conversation Harry had with reporters.
“I’d be very surprised if I didn’t finish the season with Tottenham, that’s for sure, I haven’t thought about not being here at the end of the season and I’ve got no idea why I shouldn’t.”
With Harry sticking with Spurs, the job is currently in the hands of Stuart Pearce, who is currently juggling his roles in international football.
The question now exists of whether Redknapp WILL be the one to undertake the notorious role as England Manager or not. Would our nation look to other possible candidates for the job? O’Neill, Mourinho and even Luiz Felipe Scolari have all been talked about, but with all managers currently dedicated to their own clubs, the job of England boss may well be un-fillable .
