Aston Villa’s Stephen Warnock was rumoured earlier this month to be considering a loan deal that would see him playing the rest of this season’s Premiership football at Anfield. A loan deal that might lead to a permanent one.
But reports emerging last night indicate that the deal could be hijacked at the eleventh hour by Harry Redknapp.
Spurs, are looking to maintain their eye-catching season and Warnock could just be just the ticket to add strength and depth to Tottenham’s left. Gareth Bale’s injury could be glossed over to some extent with a midfield shuffle, but Harry’s options at the back are less impressive and if Assou Ekotto were to be unable to play the result would be men playing out of position.
Warnock would be happy with an Anfield move, but a permanent deal at Champions League new boys Tottenham could well turn his head.
