Having strikers that at times last season looked less dangerous than a puppy store at boy scout jamboree, Spurs look to add some teeth as they close in on Paolo Guerrero.
The 27 year old had a great understanding with fellow Spur’s star Van der vaart when they both played at Hamburg scoring 21 goals between them in 2007 -8. Guerrero had a stormer at this years Copa America, scoring 5 goals putting him top of of the pile. Guerrero it seems is unsettled at his current club Hamburg and bluntly told local press.
“At some point in life sometimes you want a change of scenery.”
Spurs will have to battle it out with Athletico Madrid who are after a replacement for the now departed Aguero to City. Also Valencia are reported to be showing keen interest for the former Bayern man.
Hamburg however maybe reluctant to sell and seeing as he is contracted to 2014, it would only be a substantial price that would see his arrival at Spurs Lodge. (Maybe the sale of a certain midfielder may provide Harry with a warchest to be proud of)
With Levy making it clear Spurs have to sell before they buy, it looks like there is going to be a cull at White Heart Lane. Defoe, Crouch and Keane may be the first to find their hapless heads on the chopping block. Strangely though noises out of the Lane suggest Pavlyuchchenko has opened talks on a one year extension. Bizarre, I’d sell him too and look to replace him.
