Tottenham boss, Harry Redknapp is aiming to take advantage of the misery surrounding Blackburn Rovers by making a move for their prized asset Junior Hoilett, according to The People.
The talented youngster is one of very few positives to come out of Ewood Park this season sparking interest from a number of Premiership clubs with his nippy wing-play. Spurs now appear to head that list and Chairman, Daniel Levy is ready to give Redknapp the go-ahead to make a move for the 21 year-old.
Blues boss, Steve Kean will undoubtedly do everything within his power to keep his star man but finds himself in a weak position. Hoilett’s contract expires at the end of the season and although Rovers have offered him a ‘lucrative’ deal, the Canadian is reluctant to sign, making a move away from Blackburn evermore likely.
Hoilett is one of the more realistic targets that Spurs have recently been linked with and a bid in January is certainly not out of the question if Redknapp can tempt Kean with a suitable fee. The Rovers boss is likely to turn down almost any offer for his winger in a bid to keep the Blue and Whites in the Premier League, but will run the risk of losing him for nothing at the end of the season.
Speculation also surrounds Blackburn Captain, Chris Samba, with reports linking the central defender with a move away in the January window. These are worrying times for the Ewood Park faithful – the massive unrest and ill-feeling amongst supporters reached a new level at the JJB last weekend with pockets of agitated Blues confronting each other throughout the game due to the relentless ‘KEAN OUT!’ protests.
Further speculation of key players is sure to add even more fuel to the fire heaping even more misery on Steve Kean and Blackburn Rovers.
