‘Has to start in the league’ – 23-year-old impresses West Ham fans in Bolton victory

West Ham fans were in a joyous mood on Tuesday evening after seeing their side cruise through to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.

Slaven Bilic’s side have been much better in recent weeks having started the season with three successive Premier League defeats, increasing the pressure on the Croat at this early stage of the campaign.

Yet the Hammers have since beaten Huddersfield Town and drawn at West Brom in the league, and they extended their unbeaten run to three games by easing past Bolton Wanderers 3-0 in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday.

Goals from Angelo Ogbonna, Diafra Sakho, and Arthur Masuaku sealed a comfortable win for the East London outfit at the London Stadium, in a game which also saw Marko Arnautovic make his home debut for the club, and indeed impress against the Championship side.

However, it was 23-year-old Masuaku’s performance, and indeed goal, which stimulated quite a response from West Ham fans on Twitter.

And it’s fair to say that they were blown away by his stunning effort late on in the contest…

While many called for him to get a place in Bilic’s team ahead of Aaron Cresswell on a regular basis, starting with the visit of Tottenham on Saturday…
