The Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to their club’s Twitter update on the development of their new ground. Tottenham’s official Twitter account tweeted a video yesterday with the caption “A Wednesday walk around #SpursNewStadium.” Spurs are set to move into their new stadium for the start of the 2018/19 season after playing their current campaign at Wembley.

Spurs fans played their last season at their old ground White HartLane in the 2016/17 season and, fittingly, went unbeaten in the league. Mauricio Pochettino’s team won 17 and drew two of their 19 league games as the North London outfit came second in the Premier League and qualified for the Champions League. Whilst Champions League football is becoming a must for our local Lilywhites, the fans want to see silverware.
Whilst Wembley this season, Spurs have seen themselves excel in the cups. The Lilywhites overcame expectation in the Champions League, topping the ‘group of death’ consisting of Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and APOEL. Tottenham’s league form hasn’t quite matched that of last season though, as they sit 4th in the table and look set for a thrilling race for top four in the last eight games of the season. What the Spurs fans will really be looking forward to, however, is the FA Cup. The N17 faithful dumped Swansea out of the competition in the last eight to set up a semi-final clash with Manchester United in April and the fans will be hoping they can carry some silverware into their move to their new ground.

Good to see the virtual stadium – I'll never see the real one due to unaffordable prices..
