Having Auba in the squad makes life easier for Arsenal fans

Last January, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang came into the Arsenal squad as the club’s record transfer and after bagging an impressive ten goals and four assists in his first 13 Premier League games, supposed issues with attitude problems look a long way behind the 29-year-old.

If Arsenal’s Gabonese frontman goes at the same rate this season at Arsenal as he did last season then he’ll finish the season with 30 goals and 12 assists, which would put him well in the running for the Premier League golden boot, however, he’ll have to stave off competition from the likes of Harry Kane, Mo Salah and Sergio Aguero to do that. The Gunners, though, will be more than keen to get back to playing Premier League football with Auba in the squad.

Since Unai Emery came in, he’s done little to change Arsenal’s attacking options. The Spanish gaffer has mainly focused on tightening up Arsenal’s leaky defence by bringing in a number of defensive reinforcements and a new shot-stopper. Emery will know that with Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette, Mesut Ozil and Henrikh Mkhitaryan he has what he needs to take teams apart next season, now it’s just about getting the balance between defence and attack right and the club can compete for top-four again.
