Today seems like it will be a happy one for Chelsea fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern, after the Metro claimed that Eden Hazard has moved to clear up speculation over his future at the club.
The Belgian star has long been linked with a move to Paris Saint Germain – but has made it very clear that his future will lie in west London.
Hazard rubbished links with a £60 million transfer and noted to Le Derniere Heure: ‘I am staying at Chelsea 100 per cent sure. Of course in football you never know but I am under contract with Chelsea and I want to stay there,
‘And I am in discussions with Chelsea for a new contract. It is only the beginning of the talks right now so we have got time but the fact that Chelsea have offered me a new deal means that they have got a lot of confidence in me that I can do a good job and that they can count on me.’
As one of our punters notes over a pint, the fact that Hazard is willing to sign a new deal with the club and has gone out of his way to make that clear can only be a good thing for the Blues and indeed manager Jose Mourinho – who has fallen out with Hazard in the past.
