Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Eden Hazard’s younger brother Thorgan from French club Lens.
Thorgan is two years younger than Chelsea’s most marque signing this summer Eden Hazard who has once admitted he feels Thorgan is the more talented player.
Thorgan is of similar height and build and plays a similar range of attacking positions. Thorgan too has been learning his trade at a club in northern France, having moved to Lens as a 14-year-old. He graduated into the senior squad for the 2011/12 season and made his debut as a substitute in the first league match of the season, going on to make 14 league appearances in total.
He has represented his country of birth Belgium at under 16,17,18 and 19 level. He also played at the Under-19 European Championships.
The club confirmed he will join their under-21 squad and a loan option is being considered in order to continue his development.
A fee is yet to be released but it is for sure nowhere near the £32m Chelsea paid for Eden but it is widely believed Thorgan is a future talent and joins a list of promising youngsters at Stamford Bridge.
The club also confirmed deals have been completed for three young players to go on loan for the season – attacking midfielder/forward Ulises Davila to Spanish second division team Sabadell and striker Milan Lakovic and goalkeeper Matej Delac to Vitoria Guimaraes in the Portuguese top flight.Like what the TT have on offer?
