The West Ham fans in the Transfer Tavern have been laughing off a bizarre rumour from Sky Sports News, as Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing the Hammers’ Austrian superstar, Marko Arnautovic. The 2018 Hammer of the year scored 11 goals and registered six assists in his debut season at The London Stadium, but he could be set for an early end to his West Ham career.

The transfer rumours surrounding Manchester United are endless. The club has been linked with dozens of players as the fans argue over who they want to see walk through the gates at Old Trafford this summer. However, our local Irons are adamant that Arnautovic won’t be swapping for London for Manchester anytime soon, as the Austrian’s impact with his goals and assists have been crucial to West Ham’s survival this season.
At the age of 29, it’s also unlikely that Arnautovic will be on Jose Mourinho’s wishlist, with the fans expecting the club to look for younger options. However, in January, the Red Devils moved for Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez, despite him being in his late 20’s and having only a few years left at the top of his game. For our London Stadium faithful, holding onto Arnie and giving new gaffer, Mauricio Pellegrini, funds to sign players around him will be crucial as they look to have a much less stressful season away from the relegation zone next year.

That's nice, he won't be going anywhere.

They can sod off. He won't want to be a benchwarmer – he likes the limelight he gets with us.
