The Spurs fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to their club’s latest injury update on 22-year-old midfield maestro, Harry Winks. The youngster has seen his season cut short by injury, limiting him to only 16 Premier League appearances and 25 in all competitions. Spurs today tweeted that Winks is continuing his rehabilitation and is progressing well.

The Spurs fans propping our bar up all agree that young Harry Winks has bags of potential. The midfielder travelled to the Bernabeu with Tottenham in the Champions League group stages last year and put in a stellar performance, bossing the midfield despite being up against Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Isco and Casemiro. Spurs fans will want to see more of that from Winks upon his return from the sidelines, which they hope will be before the end of the season.
The last time Tottenham fans were lucky enough to see their man feature was in late February when he played just over an hour when Spurs thrashed Rochdale at Wembley in their FA Cup 5th round replay. Winks would also have been fighting out for a spot in Gareth Southgate’s World Cup squad if it wasn’t for his injury. Winks has already picked up two England caps and looked calm and assured on the ball in both games. If he can get some games under his belt before the end of the season, he may just be in line for a shock call-up.

A situation that is unchanged from 6 months ago is kind of the OPPOSITE of "news", is it not?
