‘He needs to play’, ‘One last chance then’ – Man United fans on Twitter boosted by club’s team news post

The resident Red Devils in the Transfer Tavern are eagerly anticipating their Caraboa cup tie with Bristol City tomorrow evening.

Manchester United travel to Bristol City this week looking to secure their place in the semi-finals of the EFL Cup and take a step closer to defending their trophy. Although Mourinho will be pleased to have drawn a Championship side at this stage in the competition, he will know that his side still have plenty of work to do against a team who currently sit in 3rd place in The Championship table.

Ahead of their midweek fixture, United’s official Twitter page posted a link to their club’s website which detailed the latest team news for their clash against Bristol City.

One of the major talking points to emerge from the tweet concerned Mourinho’s admission that Henrik Mhkitaryan could be set to make his return to first-team action tomorrow evening.

Since the end of October, Armenia’s captain of the national side has only featured in 19 minutes of action during a cameo appearance against Brighton towards the end of November.

Speculation linking Mhkitaryan with a move away from the club has since ensued, but a positive performance in United red tomorrow night could be enough to dispel the rumours and resurrect his stuttering career in Manchester.

Here’s what the United supporters had to say in response to the team news…
