The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are brimming with excitement as the Blues look set to spend big to defend their Premier League crown.
Following the embarrassment that derived from the 2015/16 season, Chelsea supporters are still basking in jubilation having won the Premier League in Antonio Conte’s first season in charge at Stamford Bridge.
The cause for excitement looks set to continue for Chelsea supporters as the club are poised to exercise their vast financial power.
The latest name who is rumoured to be joining Chelsea is Sevilla’s Spanish winger Vitolo.
According to the Daily Mirror, Antonio Conte has expressed interest in the player who has a £35m release clause in his contract.
It is rumoured that Atletico are also interested in the player, although they won’t be able to register him until January due to a transfer ban.
Our landlord thinks that this could be a promising transfer for the Champions of England, considering the Spaniard’s versatility which would make him a perfect fit in Chelsea’s 3-4-3 formation.
The winger also flaunts a creditable goal tally of 27 goals in 171 appearances for Sevilla, although many believe that a fee of £35M is far too substantial for a 27-year-old who would be devoid of a guaranteed place in Conte’s starting eleven.
Here’s what Twitter had to say….
Immense work rate, very versatile. Could be cover for the wing positions and an upgrade on Moses as a rwb

The Vitolo to #cfc rumour got my attention this morning, I love watching him play. Think he'd fit perfectly into a Conte team.

Conte wants Vitolo from Sevilla. Looks a right footed Malouda to me. Immobile, Biabiany, Conti…His targets
