Jurgen Klopp still has a couple of tricky fixtures to face from here on in until the end of the season, including Barcelona in the Champions League. But, it's safe to say that Liverpool are in the perfect position at this moment in time, with silverware opportunities propping up regularly.

Liverpool will be praying that Manchester United can get the job done at Old Trafford tonight in what is a season-defining clash, with a Manchester City slip-up helping the Reds massively.

The Reds have relied on a lot of their star players this season, opposed to making use of youth players at Anfield, but one particular loanee surely can't be ignored after the season he's having.

Herbie Kane is currently on loan at Doncaster Rovers. He operates in the middle of midfield and he's managed to produce an impressive seven goals and nine assists.

And, one thing that will excite Liverpool fans is the fact that Rovers fans have dubbed him (as per talkSPORT) as the 'next Steven Gerrard'. His idol was Gerrard growing up and he was his under-19 coach at Liverpool last season. Kane was one of two players mentioned as stars of the future in the Rangers manager’s autobiography, so perhaps the Reds may have found their next Anfield hero already.

It's crazy to think that he's gone from pretending (as per Guardian) to be Gerrard in his garden as a youngster to potentially replacing him at Anfield at some point in the future.

Of course, the Reds are currently missing a creative spark in the final third and Kane could just be the man to provide it, having shown just how deadly he can be this season. The likes of Georginio Wijnaldum, Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita and Fabinho have been impressive this season but they've failed to produce valuable contributions in the final third, which has contributed towards the Reds' creativity problems.

Kane is a long way off living up to Gerrard's name at this moment in time as it's only hype right now, but he certainly has all the ingredients and the backing to possibly follow in his footsteps on Merseyside.

Liverpool fans, would you like to see Herbie Kane in the first team ranks at Anfield next season? Join the discussion by commenting below...
